November 19th Board Meeting Highlights
- The Board appointed a new member, Chris Colvin, to replace Maral Erol, outgoing Board member who had to step down from the Board. This member spot will be up for re-election in October of 2026.
- The strategic discussion kicking off this month’s Board meeting centered on student engagement and outreach. In December, we will pilot a small trivia night for an ISU graduate student club in the Wheatsfield community room. After the event, the Board will discuss possible future student-centered events to bring more students into the co-op.
- The CEO reported that September and October sales were both just over budget. The CEO also noted that staffing has been stable, and Wheatsfield will be looking to hire more for the holidays.
- The October Member Drive added 70 new members (including those part of the Student Discount Program).
- The Board congratulates the CEO on the successful completion of her first quarter as CEO.
- After parting with the previous sushi company, Wheatsfield hopes to have a new sushi distributor supplying sushi to the co-op after the start of 2026.
- With the delay in SNAP benefits for November, Wheatsfield placed a donation box in the vestibule for non-perishable products that go to Food at First. Food at First will also do a weekly pick-up donations of food the co-op is not able to sell starting November 20.
