The holiday season in Downtown Ames is officially underway! We’ll kick things off with the Ames Snow Magic Celebration on December 4, followed by our own Fresh Evergreens Make and Take on Dec. 6th and then our Winter Kickoff Event on December 13. Join us from 10am-2pm for local vendors, samples, cider, giveaways, live music, crafts, and more. These gatherings are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate community—but they also remind us that this is a season of giving. Thanks to the generosity of Wheatsfield members through the Change for Community program, $29,552 has been donated to local nonprofits in the past year.

As we wrap up Wheatsfield’s 51st year, the future looks bright. Membership remains strong and engaged, sales and financial performance continue to steadily improve, and the retirement of our long-term debt is now within reach. Most importantly, our dedicated staff and passionate board members are well-positioned to carry our mission forward for years to come.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Liz Kolbe, Jeff Kushkowski, and Maral Erol for their many years of service on the Board of Directors. We also warmly welcome Alexandria Atal, Christina Campbell, and newly appointed Chris Colvin to the team.
