About WFAN

Since 1997, the Women, Food, and Agriculture Network has engaged women & non-binary farmers and land stewards in building a just and ecological food system through community power. Our network’s deepest roots are in Iowa, and now, 27 years on, we have the privilege of connecting  with members across the country who share our values of storytelling, interconnectedness, ecofeminism and justice.

WFAN Values and Programming

We offer programming for beginning farmers, food justice advocates, and land stewards through our pillar programs, Harvesting Our Potential, Women Caring for the Land, and Plate to Politics. You can learn more about these programs here. Foundational to all of our programming is the importance of collective knowledge, and we build peer to peer learning and storytelling into all of the work that we do.

How to Support the Women, Food, and Agriculture Network?

This Women’s History Month finds us reflecting on the women leaders in our network who have worked together to build resilient food and farming systems. As we connect our 2024 Harvesting Our Potential Mentors and Mentees, we celebrate over 20 years of supported mentorship for beginning women and non-binary farmers. We invite you to make a donation to our network to support 20 more years of mentorships that build soil, and community in Iowa and across the country.
