The Community Academy (TCA) will offer short-term, low-cost programming to youth of all ages starting in the Fall of 2022. Students will have the opportunity to become deeply connected to their peers, their teachers, and their community through immersive experiences. Learning is through personalized, interdisciplinary, and nature focused projects that foster relationships, critical thinking and active, engaged citizenship. Our model connects youth to their place through immersion in the natural world and our community. These programs cover multiple topics and will occur at a variety of times in order to serve students’ varied interests and schedules. We will offer a sliding scale fee in order to cover materials, transportation and staff salaries, in addition to fundraising from various sources.
