Fri., July 25 | Mary Jane’s Closet

A quirky Ames string band full of decades of original tunes and Tomā€˜s momā€˜s favorite classics from the 30s and 40s. Banjo, guitar, mandolin and occasional tuba. Have some fun with Tom, Wayne, John and Mary Jane!

Fri., Aug 1 | Iowa No Mountain Boys

The Iowa No Mountain Boys play a mix of original and traditional bluegrass music, paying homage to its roots. The band started during picking sessions on the porch of local bluegrass roustabout, Mark Hargrove, but quickly realized their line-up provided a unique and satisfying musical element that was missing in the local scene. Focusing on multi-part harmonies and driving instrumental breaks, the Iowa No Mountain Boys enjoy bringing the beauty of traditional bluegrass music to audiences new and old. The current line up is Mark Hargrove on fiddle/vocals, Everett Hargrove on banjo, Andrew Hoiberg on guitar/vocals and Chris Myers on bass/vocals with the as-available addition of Kyle Murphy on mandolin/vocals.

Fri., Aug 8 | Perfect Strangers

Born in the static of late-night radio and dive bar jukeboxes, Perfect Strangers is a 90s alternative rock duo forged in the heart of Ames, Iowa. Gabriel Searles and Craig Kaufman were just two strangers until their shared obsession with fuzzed-out guitars, raw lyrics, and flannel-era anthems brought them crashing together. Now, they’re cranking the volume and resurrecting the sound that defined a generation—loud, honest, and unapologetically alt.

Fri., Aug 15 | Poly Poly

Hailing from the heartland of Iowa,Ā PolyĀ Poly carves out a sonic landscape where the ethereal echoes of Pink Floyd meet the improvisational spirit of Miles Davis and the genre-bending explorations of Medeski Martin & Wood. Friends with a shared musical vision, our music journeys through atmospheric textures, intricate instrumental interplay, and grooves that invite both contemplation and movement. We’re proud to be a part of the vibrant Iowa music scene, bringing our unique blend of psychedelic rock, jazz fusion, and experimental sounds to local stages and beyond.

Fri., Aug 22 | Doomed Pioneers

Doomed Pioneers are an Ames-based vocal and guitar duo who dip in and out of their favorite genres from Bossa Nova to Folk. The name Doomed Pioneers stems from the field of Geology where it describes small critters living at the bottom of a shallow ocean who are unwillingly transported to the deep by mud-slides. In this new and strange environment they become pioneers, and because most of them will not succeed they are doomed. Deanna, an Arkansas transplant, and Jacqueline, from Switzerland, can relate and think making music is a pretty good way to find joy wherever life sweeps you.

Fri., Aug 29 | Wally Neal & the Cloud Hidden Singers

Wally Neal is a puzzled pilgrim carrying a wild, drifting collection of verse and fingerstyle guitar. He is currently huddled over a 4 track tape machine, dislodging his collected solo works from dusty shelves and vistas of memory. He will be joined by some beloved Iowa musicians, both real and imaginary.
For fans of Van Morrison, Gregory Alan Isakov, Bonny Light Horseman, Hunter & Garcia, and Matsuo Bashō.

Fri., Sept 5 | TBD
